About SejrBank

SejrBank is a free banking simulator you play in your browser. It is made in Denmark by SEJR Group A/S.

Why we built it

Banks shape every economy, yet how they actually work — and why they fail — is a mystery to most people. We wanted a game that is honest about the mechanics (a real balance sheet, real capital and liquidity rules, real crises) and still genuinely fun to play: goals, rivals, big moments and hard decisions.

Why a Danish harbour town?

Denmark has a rich tradition of small local savings banks, some of which grew large — and some of which failed spectacularly in the crises of the early 1990s and 2008–2012. Starting in fictional Sejrby lets every player live the whole arc, from approving a fisherman's engine loan to running a global bank. All banks, people and places in the game are fictional.

The Windows 95 look

Your career starts in 1995, so your bank runs on SEJR/OS 95: every system is a retro desktop program. It is also a nod to the era when the modern banking system — and its next crises — were being built.
